Our Centennial Legacy
1926
The Foundation
The Enterprise Community Hall was established in 1926. The plan was for the hall to serve as the first dedicated space for local gatherings and civic events in the area. In the photo below, Charles Graham, Dan Wagar, Stan Bell, Byron Cronk, George Fenwick and Byron Sparks are making plans at the future site of the Enterprise Hall in 1926.
The Big Expansion
1991
With the downstairs kitchen no longer meeting increasingly stringent health regulations, it became clear that for the hall to continue to serve it's patrons an expansion was necessary. The expansion would allow for a dedicated seating area adjacent to the dance floor, modern bathrooms (to compliment the original bathrooms on the stage) plus a kitchen, bar area, front foyer entrance (now facing Prince street) and an accessibility ramp.
This was a HUGE undertaking requiring blended support from the Enterprise Firefighters, Camden East Township, The Ministry of Tourism and Recreation and countless volunteers and individual donors. Many dedicated people worked in the summer heat for $1 per hour to ensure insurance coverage on the job. It was truly a labour of love for our community.

New Beginnings
2025
Thanks to the incredible dedication of Stone Mills Township staff, a significant investment in our community hall was arranged for 2025. A brand new fully accessible entrance and a fully illuminated and a covered ramp system was designed and built. Great care was taken to preserve a "turn of the century" feel of the building including dark wood siding, a reproduction of the original signage and the re-installation of a porthole window in the gable end that had been removed and stored since 1991. Our hall had a new lease on life for new generations to enjoy, while also paying tribute to our ancestors who started the journey.
